JACKSON, MI – Dolly and Brookie are just two of the many pets at Cascades Humane Society that are looking for loving forever homes.
Meet Dolly, a girl with the sweetest soul. Dolly’s journey at CHS has been nothing short of inspiring. From her very timid arrival to her growing confidence, she’s proven the incredible power of care and patience.
Dolly is currently looking for a forever home where she can continue to grow and be loved. Dolly thrives with furry friends and would do well in a home with other dogs. She loves learning and playing with other dogs. Dolly can be a bit shy initially, but her loyalty and affection shine through once trust is established.
CHS is looking for an adopter for Dolly that can be patient and understanding and is ready to shower her with overflowing love. Dolly is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and has tested negative for heartworm disease.
Brookie is a sweet girl, with beautiful medium to long tabby fur. She is a little shy in the shelter but with some time to adjust to her new surroundings she will be sitting in your lap in no time.
Brookie purrs readily and likes to be petted. She is only 5 months old and is ready to entertain her new family with playtime. Brookie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and negative for FIV and FeLV.
Dolly and Brookie want to make sure you know about Wine and Whiskers, CHS’s fundraiser at Sandhill Crane Vineyards, 4724 Walz Road.
For your $35 ticket, you receive a commemorative glass, a wine tasting flight or a full glass pour and a personal charcuterie plate. Enjoy your own wine and food pairing (or “purring” if you will) at your leisure in an intimate setting now through the end of August. Tickets can be purchased at Sandhill Crane Vineyards or online at www.chspets.org.
If you think Dolly or Brookie could be your next perfect, furry family member (or members), then please stop in for a visit. Cascades Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Drive, is open noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
All dogs and cats at Cascade Humane Society have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and given parasite protection prior to adoption. Those who adopt pets also receive a free wellness checkup from any of 24 area veterinarians.
Dog owners wishing to adopt another dog are required to do a meet and greet with their dog and the dog they’re choosing to adopt.
CHS also has added services to its Spay and Neuter Assistance Program. The service, available during scheduled spay or neuter surgeries, includes vaccines, heartworm testing for dogs, FIV and FeLV testing for cats and dental procedures.
CHS also has a Pet Food Pantry to help families going through financial hardship. CHS accepts cat or dog food donations, as long as the food is in its original packaging. Donors can drop off food by the pole barn behind the facility. The Pet Food Pantry is open from noon to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month.
Those considering adopting Dolly, Brookie or another pet can apply to do so here. Adoptable pets can be viewed at www.chspets.org. For more information, call 517-787-7387.
